BCS breakdown:

BCS Top 5:
1. Kansas State
2. Oregon
3. Notre Dame
4. Alabama
5. Georgia

It’s as simple as this if Kansas State and Oregon win out they’re in.

Remember this is college football and anything can happen.

Notre Dame is the first team on the outside looking in, and the SEC Champion will be next in line behind the Irish. Both Alabama and Georgia are 1”A” and 1”B” of the one loss teams, and it’s looking like they will meet for the SEC Championship.

It would take a 2007 like finish to the season for the SEC to win their 7th Title in a row, but history does repeat itself. In 2007 LSU was ranked 5th going into Championship weekend. The Tigers won the SEC Title and the two top ranked teams Missouri and West Virginia were upset. LSU jumped Georgia who didn’t win the east and then went on to win the title. Last season it took an unforeseen upset by Iowa State for the Tide to back their way into the title game. It’s what makes college football so interesting, but what are the odds it will happen again for the SEC?

The SEC needs two of the top three teams to fall in the final weeks of the season in order to make it back to the title game. Here’s a breakdown of K-State, Oregon and Notre Dames remaining schedules.

Kansas State:
@ Baylor - The Wildcats should handle the Bears.
vs. Texas - The Longhorns have top athletes, but can they put it all together for 60 minutes?

Oregon:
vs. Stanford – This is will be the best front 7 the Ducks have faced.
@ Oregon State – Anything can happen in the Civil War.
Pac12 Championship – More than likely will have to outshoot UCS again.

Notre Dame:
Wake Forest – The Demon Deacons aren’t that good and shouldn’t upset the Irish
@ USC – This could be a very interesting game; it’s a rivalry game and the Trojans might have a good enough offense to score on Notre Dame.

You can see some potential upsets that could make a path for the SEC, but it’s a long shot.
