Blog: #1 Alabama’s epic 21-17 comeback over #5 LSU
#1 Alabama comes from behind to beat #5 LSU at Death Valley.
What we know:
•AJ McCarron leading the Tide on final drive at Death Valley will go down in the history books as one of the all time greatest moments in Crimson Tide history.
•Alabama got punched in the mouth early and punched back, but for the first time this season a return punch almost knocked the Tide out.
•Did LSU expose the Tide? Alabama was zone blitzing on 3rd down, but LSU found soft spot after soft spot in the Tide’s secondary.
•Up next: Alabama will host SEC newcomer Texas A&M.
Report Card:
•Offense: B-
The Tide scored 3 touchdowns and matched last year’s National Championship point total, but for 28 minutes of the second half the Tides offense was nonexistent.
•Defense: C+
The Defense made a key forth down stop, but LSU was able to convert 3rd down after 3rd down.
•Special Teams: A-
Cyrus Jones had a horrible fumble, but besides that the special teams played well.

Passing:
•A.J. MaCarron completed 14 of his 27 passes for 165 yards with 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions.
•LSU’s Zack Mettenberger completed 24 of his 35 passes for 298 yards with 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions.
Rushing:
•TJ Yeldon rushed for 76 yards on 11 carries.
•Eddie Lacy rushed for 83 yards on 11 carries for 1 touchdown.
Receiving:
•Kevin Norwood reeled in most of his passes on the final drive, but his 5 receptions for 62 yards lead the Tide.
•Christian Jones added 40 yards on 4 receptions.
