TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama polished off a 26-player signing class without any big last-day surprises.

The Crimson Tide’s class was ranked in the Top 5 nationally for the third straight year in preliminary ratings.

Stanhope Elmore cornerback DeMarcus Milliner headlined a strong group of six defensive backs signees in coach Nick Saban’s latest haul. That was a key area of need for a secondary replacing three starters.

Alabama also brought in five defensive linemen, led by versatile pass rusher Alfy Hill. The Tide signed three receivers and three offensive linemen.

The Tide’s only quarterback signee, Phillip Sims, is already enrolled and set to go through spring practice.

Alabama landed the state’s top two prospects in Milliner and Theodore linebacker C.J. Mosley.
